Bae was very shy towards strangers. However, once you spent the time to become her bestie, she was a completely different dog. Whitney spent extra time helping her learn the world isn’t so scary after all. After several visits to Encore and countless field trips, Bae was adopted on December 15, 2019 from the League for Animal Welfare and now lives in Ocala, Florida!

Scooter was sad because his owner had passed away, so he was surrendered to the shelter. Scooter was anxious of sudden noises/movements. It took some time for him to get settled, but he eventually did. He was adopted by one of the League for Animal Welfare’s shelter staff on March 8, 2019!

Lola came in with her house mate Mars. She was rescued on April 27, 2019 from the Calhoun County Humane Society.

Mars came in with his house mate Lola. He was one of a huge rescue effort by the Calhoun County Humane Society. They drove 26 dogs 1900 miles on May 10-11, 2019 to three northern rescues to give some great dogs a second chance!

Mandy came in with her brother Billy. She was adopted in January of 2019 from the Calhoun County Humane Society.

Athena was adopted in July of 2019 from the Pell City Animal Control Center.

Ethel was a 9 year old chihuahua that didn’t let her age slow her down one bit! Her spunk definitely showed when she would be trotting through the play yard. Ethel was adopted on March 4, 2019 from the League for Animal Welfare.

Sasha was the last of a litter of 10 puppies, but she finally found her furever home on March 17, 2019 by a sweet family who adopted her from the League for Animal Welfare.

Molly was 6 years old and had spent 4 of those years at the Calhoun County Humane Society. Thankfully a sweet family opened up their home and adopted her to spend her senior years with them on March 25, 2019.

Cleo was the runt out of the “Dalmatian Five,” She was also part of the huge rescue effort by the Calhoun County Humane Society during May 10-11, 2019.

Boomer was rescued on February 6, 2019 from the Calhoun County Humane Society.

Sue had been at the League for Animal Welfare her entire life and no one really thought this “lifer” would find a furever home, but just before Valentine’s Day in 2019 a fabulous family opened their home to sweet Sue at the venerable age of 14!

Ava was adopted on February 11, 2019 from the Calhoun County Humane Society.

Liza Jane was adopted on June 15, 2019 from the League for Animal Welfare.

Chloe was adopted on May 25, 2019 from the Calhoun County Animal Control Center.

Sassy was adopted on May 29, 2019 from the Calhoun County Animal Control Center.

Lady Red was an eight year old American Pit Bull Terrier who had spent four of those years in the shelter. She was adopted from the Calhoun County Humane Society on July 6, 2019.

One of the “Dalmatian Five,” Chastity was rescued on June 19, 2019 from the Calhoun County Humane Society.

George was rescued in July of 2019 from the Calhoun County Humane Society.

Hank was abandoned when his owners moved and left him behind. Turned out Hank needed surgery to fix his left rear leg. CCHS raised the funds to pay for Hank’s surgery, and Rockin P Rescue out of Jacksonville took Hank and found him a wonderful forever home in January of 2019.

Tricky was rescued in January of 2019 from the Calhoun County Humane Society.

Red was part of a protective custody/animal cruelty case. Despite the lack of care Red had received from being starved all the way to never having the touch of a loving hand, he didn’t give up on people. The shelter gave him a second opportunity at life. Red was grateful when a sweet family finally adopted him from the Pell City Animal Control Center on January 14, 2019 and gave him his furever home!!
