May is flying by – it’s Memorial Day weekend already! We’ve enjoyed sharing some shelter dog success stories with you. We’re so proud that to date, 66% of the dogs that have come through Encore have been adopted or picked up by a rescue organization. That’s great, but we want to do better.
There are still many dogs in our partner shelters that need to find a forever home. Some came to Encore a long time ago. Some were here just last month. All of them have potential to be great pets. Like young black and tan coonhound mix Tinkerbell from the Calhoun County Humane Society or sweet senior dog Sniffy at the League for Animal Welfare. Like Sassy with her spots and love for toys, from Calhoun County Animal Control. The list goes on and on.
The shelters do an amazing job at a job that is amazingly difficult. We are so happy to be able to help their dogs. We hope you can help us to help their dogs, too. Volunteers and donations are a lifeline to Encore. If you can do either, we will truly appreciate it. Your donations help us pay the electric bills and gas for the van to pick up the dogs. Your volunteered time helps us work with more dogs, and get projects done around the building.
Please visit the Ways to Help page of our website to learn more about how to volunteer or donate. Here’s wishing everyone a fabulous and safe Memorial Day weekend! If you are a dog owner, give them a hug from all of us at Encore.
