Major’s Second Chance

Mastiff/terrier or lab mix Major is definitely major league. This year and half old male just wants to work and play. He already knows sit and stay, and loves to learn new things and love on new people.

What you don’t know about Major is that he was originally at Calhoun County Animal Control, and was scheduled to be euthanized on the day the League for Animal Welfare stepped in to save him. Since Animal Control is always hurting for kennel space, they have to make those impossible decisions, including for dogs like Major. But LAW is now working with them to pull dogs with potential for adoption, who’s time has run out. Major is one of those lucky dogs.

What was Major’s major fault that landed him in trouble? He’s a big dog that likes to jump, and he learned he can jump a four foot fence. So his forever home will need a six foot fenced yard to keep this happy boy contained. Otherwise, Major’s awesome. He loves toys – check out the video of him nose bumping a toy to make it squeak. If you’re looking for a lovable dog in a big package, contact the League for Animal Welfare.
