200 Dogs and Counting!

We hit a real milestone – the 200th dog that has been to Encore was recently rescued and on her way to a new home and family! Remember Darcy, the six year old pit bull mix from Calhoun County Humane Society? She’s the one with the cute pink nose who LOVES squeaky toys. Darcy had been at the shelter over five years but finally, it was her day.

Darcy was 200 out of 244 dog that Encore’s worked with since we opened in November 2017. We’re thrilled that over 80% of the dogs that have been here, have gone on to rescue or adoption and a chance for that encore life.

From Abby to Ziggy and 198 in between, the 200 lucky dogs can be seen on our website under Meet the Dogs/Success Stories. They are our reason for being. So please join us in celebrating for Darcy and all the others!
